What Are The Most Popular Types Of Special Effects Lenses?

In recent years, there have been many innovations in the types of special effects contact lenses that are used by the theatrical industry to transform the eyes of their actors.

Special effect lenses are used to create eye appearances that cannot be obtained in any other way and because the eyes are considered to be the windows to the soul, having dramatic eyes on the actors in the movie can pull the entire look of the character together in a way that is incomparable. Because of the growing popularity of these types of color contacts lenses, some people that are not in the theatrical industry have chosen to purchase and wear these lenses as a fashion statement.

One of the most popular types of special effects lenses on the market today are the ones that are individually hand painted by artists to create the appearance that the purchaser desires. These lenses are made out of some of the softest plastic available for contact lenses and the designs for the lenses are hand-painted by some of the leading artists in the industry, making each set of lenses a unique creation. These hand-painted lenses are much more highly prized that the theatrical lenses that are mass produced by machinery in a factory.

Hand-painted special effects lenses can be purchased as either standard lenses that are used only to change the appearance of the eyes or prescription lenses that provide vision correction as well as altering the appearance of the eyes. To obtain the prescription lenses, the person will first need to see an optometrist for an eye examination to be sure that the prescription lenses will allow them to see properly. Having an incorrect prescription for the lenses could can damage to the eyes and prevent the person from seeing correctly while the lenses are in.

Many of the artists that hand-paint the theatrical special effects lenses are able to create virtually any design that the person can imagine. Purchasers can email or fax their design to the company that creates the special effects lenses and receive a reply of whether or not the design is possible within a matter of days. After the lenses have been painted in the design that the purchaser desires, the lenses are carefully packed in a sterile solution and shipped to the purchaser using one of the main package delivery services in the country.

These hand-painted special effects lenses can last for a number of years as long as they are cared for properly. The lenses can be cleaned and disinfected with regular contact lens cleaning solutions and stored in typical contact lens cases without damaging the lenses. It is not recommended for individuals to share a pair of contact lenses, even if they are not prescription lenses, because diseases could be transferred by the lenses from one person to another.

As special effects lenses become more and more popular with members of the general population as well as individuals in the theatrical industry, hand-painted special effects lenses will continue to make an appearance at theaters near you.

Halloween Lenses To Wear That Real Time Awe And Horror In Your Eyes

Previous post, we discussed on cosmetic contact lenses that will make you more attractive. For this post, you will get the way to make your eyes look crazy by using weird wild contacts for your Halloween party

Saw that gal in the red dress? The one with those ‘strange’ eyes! Well, sure your friends noticed her too, for no one can help noticing the eyes that make it difficult for one to disengage as though they cast some kind of a hypnotic spell.

No, that was no hallucination, neither were you visualizing one of those bedtime fairy tales that your grand mom told you so often. And the one that passed by was no witch. It is just that she happened to wear the contacts designed to send the chills down your spine. Don’t be surprised if you later find that it was no other than the next-door, studious-type Suzie who is usually bespectacled with her thick black glass frame, to a Halloween get together!

color holloween contact lens miami halloweenThese lenses commonly known as ‘special effects contacts‘can make those whom you see day in, day out look like utter strangers!

These lenses are primarily cosmetic in nature and come in all fancy colors and designs. Choose whatever you like and for as as many occasions as you can think of. Broadly speaking, there are only two kinds of such lensesthe ones that are round in shape and cover the pupil only and the ones that cover the entire visible area of the eye. Then, there is a third kind that’s a go-between, which leaves a little bit of white area visible at the corners.

While the simple round ones are quite easy to put in and take out and are equally easy to wear, the Scleral ones those that cover the entire visible area of the eye, are difficult in that respect. Besides, they may also be a little uncomfortable to keep on. Moreover, the Scleral lenses are more expensive, too. So, on one hand you have round, simple comfortable lenses that are good and normal but do not pack as much of shock value as you might want them to, and on the other hand you have high shock value lenses that are difficult to put on, put off and keep on. The extremes are bridged by Semi-scleral lenses, which stand right in between the two in all respects. They are cheaper than the Scleral ones and are comfortable to wear and can be put on and off without much difficulty.

So, if you need a Halloween costume with some real effect, make the contacts a part of it. You may just end up getting a prize.

Cosmetic Color Eyes Contacts Guide

Cosmetic Colored Contacts – Special Effects Lenses

People often want to reinvent themselves and change the way they look and ultimately how others see them. Some will take drastic steps to achieve this but most will change only a few things about themselves and leave it at that.

Today, people even have the option of changing the color of their eyes with cosmetic colored contacts. Unlike prescription contact lenses, cosmetic colored contacts can be worn by nearly everybody and are available in a wide variety of colors and styles. So whether you want to create that special look for that special occasion or just feel that you would look better with blue eyes, these contact lenses could be the thing for you.

Cosmetic colored contacts have been around for years but were only available to those in the movie industry or theater. Their primary use was for actors to completely look the part. Today these same contact lenses are available to the general public and can be used everyday or for special occasions like Halloween if you want to stand out from the crowd. They are also often referred to as special effects contact lenses or just colored contact lenses.

Cosmetic Colored Contacts For Every Occasion

Special effects contacts are produced in mass or can even be custom made. The only difference between the two is the price. The idea behind each lens can usually be traced back to popular movies and are often associated to a particular character within that movie. An example of this would be the film The Lost Boys.

There are also the generic types of cosmetic colored contacts that look like cats’ or snakes’ eyes. Wearing these contacts, will completely allow you to look as if you really have eyes like cats or snakes without affecting your normal vision. There are also wolf eye versions available.

If you want to make more of a statement, you could even get special effects contacts that look like zombie or blind eyes. These lenses look like a solid white milky substance that covers your eyes. The only problem with these lenses is that you are not able to see through them hence the reason why you will see people only wearing one lens at a time.

Fire eye contacts give them impression that the eyes are red or engulfed in flames whereas black sclera contacts look like your entire eye has been filled with black oil and are completely motionless. If you want your eyes look like mirrors, then mirrored eye contacts are the way to go and hemorrhaged eye contacts will make your eyes appear like you have just had a very heavy night on the town.

Cosmetic colored contacts can also be used to enlarge your pupils quite considerably or even make your eyes glow in the dark. These are perfect for going clubbing.

Whether to you like your eyes to be blue or brown or really stand out from the crowd at the next Halloween party, you can be certain that there are cosmetic colored lenses that will fit any occasion or purpose. One last to remember before you go rushing to the mall, is that although you may have perfect vision, you will still need a prescription from a qualified eye specialist to be able to purchase cosmetic colored contacts.

Coloured Contact Lenses- There Are Many Types

First of all, You can get great offer on crazy contact lens from this blogs now.

Colored contactsallow a person to change or enhance, his or her eye color. Until 2005, purchasing colored contact lenses did not require a prescription. However, the purchase of a color contact lens currently requires a prescription due to many incidents of adverse effects, and the potential for serious eye injury. These adverse events have been caused by improper fit, defective manufacturing, consumer misuse, and the transfer of of harmful bacteria.

Therefore, the color contact lens is no longer classified as an unregulated cosmetic device. They are regulated by the FDA as medical devices regardless of whether or not the contact lenses have any vision correction. Dealers that sell the color contact lens in the U.S. without requiring a prescription are in violation of the law.
Because of the chance of infection, cosmetic contacts should not be swapped between friends, or used by children without proper professional consultation. Cosmetic contact lenses need to be cleaned and cared for with the same diligence and care as corrective contacts, including appropriate disinfection, routine cleaning, and careful storage between use.
As with corrective lenses, coloured contacts are available in several varieties from twenty-four hour lenses to monthly lenses. Some coloured contact lenses provide additional protection against harmful ultraviolet radiation from sunlight. Colored lenses vary from regular corrective vision contact lenses in the addition of tints to the region of the contacts overlaying the iris. The iris is the naturally colored, circular part of the eye surrounding the dark pupil where light enters. Four different types of tints are added.

A "visibility tint" simply makes the contact more visible for easier removal and insertion. Visibility tints do not change the eye color. Somewhat more pronounced in color, "enhancement tints" are designed to enhance the natural color of the iris. Enhancement tints are often used by people with light-colored eyes who wish to enhance their natural color.

The "color tints" are intense tints designed to significantly change the color of the iris. Colored tint lenses completely change a person’s eye color, as a someone might change her hair color. These contact lenses are also commonly used with holiday theatrical costumes, Halloween costumes, and sporting-event fan costumes.
The last category of lens tints, the "light-filtering tints". These make objects of certain colors stand-out in bright light. These contact lenses are employed much like vision-enhancing sunglasses.

Whether a person’s reason for wearing contacts is purelycosmetic, purely corrective, or a mix of both, receiving a proper examination and prescription from a licensed professional is an essential first-step to ensuring long-term pleasure of the product without taking a chance of damaging your eyes.
